Colors, the first Business of Atul, was established in 1952 to meet the requirements of textile dyestuffs, then entirely imported into India. The Business offers a complete range of textile and paper dyestuffs and high performance pigments. It has the distinction of manufacturing several dyestuffs and pigments for the first time in India.
Rudolf Atul Chemicals Ltd, a 50-50 joint venture between Rudolf GmbH and Atul, offers a complete range of textile chemicals to its customers in India.
The research and manufacturing facilities are located in Atul, Gujarat. The Business has a small unit in Tarapur, Maharashtra engaged in standardisation of Vat and Disperse dyes. A dedicated Technical Services laboratory in Atul focuses on application development and simulates functions performed by customers such as Continuous dyeing, Semi-continuous dyeing, Exhaust dyeing and Printing.
With a portfolio of 540 products, Colors serves about 700 customers in 40 countries. These products are mainly used by customers belonging to Textile, Paint and Coatings and Paper industries.
The Business is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. It is a member of Ecological and Toxicological Association of Dyes and Pigments (ETAD) and its products are Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified.
The team consists of about 815 members.
