The Bulk Chemicals and Intermediates Business was established in 1960 to meet the captive requirement of the Company, particularly of Sodium hydroxide, Chlorine, Sulphuric acid, Oleum, and Sulphur trioxide. The Business has the distinction of being the only manufacturer of Resorcinol in India. It also manufactures value added products like Resorcinol formaldehyde resins, 1-3 Cyclohexanedione and Anisole.
The research and manufacturing facilities are located at Atul, Gujarat.
With a portfolio of 26 products, Bulk Chemicals and Intermediates serves about 200 customers in 20 countries. In addition to captive consumption, the products are also used by customers belonging to Cosmetic, Dyestuff and Tyre industries.
The Business is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. Key products of the Business are REACH registered.
The team consists of about 220 members.
